BARU School of Foreign Languages Launches European Language Portfolio

Bartın University School of Foreign Languages launches The European Language Portfolio which is an individual-centered model used in standard language learning and teaching in the Department of Foreign Languages for the 2019-2020 Academic Year. This model is an individual-centered and internationally recognized learning system. The ELP is a document in which those who are learning or have learned a language can record and reflect on their language learning and intercultural experiences. The European Language Portfolio Language Level Indicators are based on listening, reading, productive speaking, conversational and writing skills. The criteria in the European Languages Portfolio are intended to be achieved. The European Language Portfolio has three parts: a Language Passport, a Language Biography, and a Dossier. The description of the language in the Language Passport is prepared according to the levels of proficiency in the “Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment”. The Language Passport provides a general summary of your proficiency in different languages at different times.

In the contact meeting held at the School of Foreign Languages, Assist. Prof. Dr. Burcu ŞENTÜRK informed the instructors on how to use the European Language Portfolio effectively in the classroom. The seminar was held with the participation of all faculty members.
