Responsibilities of PDU:
Professional Development Unit (PDU) started to serve at the School of Foreign Languages as of the 2018-2019 Academic year. This unit aims to improve the existing knowledge, skills and experience of our academic staff within the scope of lifelong learning.
What PDU does:
It organizes pre-service training and orientation of newly appointed academic staff. For this purpose, it organizes meetings to inform our new instructors by all units serving in our school and determines the program for classroom observations. The Professional Development Unit also carries out the planning, which allows our newly appointed instructors to attend the courses of volunteer experienced instructors and observe them, so that they can get an insight into the teaching of the course and the use of course materials, etc., before doing their first lesson.
It determines the subjects that instructors need to develop professionally and organizes the necessary in-service training activities. It supports the professional development of all teaching staff members by sharing with them about current approaches to Foreign Language Education.
The administration, all units, and all our academic staff participate in and support the unit activities, and the organization of unit activities is carried out by the unit employees:
