MOCA 2026, an event initiated by Ege University School of Foreign Languages, was hosted this year by BARU School of Foreign Languages with the active participation of students and instructors. Held under the theme “Artificial Intelligence in Schools of Foreign Languages,” the event encouraged productive discussions by bringing together different perspectives on the use of artificial intelligence in language education.

During the focus group discussions, participants shared their views on the role of artificial intelligence in language learning and teaching. They emphasized that AI can offer valuable support in areas such as vocabulary learning, writing skills, and feedback processes. At the same time, participants noted that overreliance on AI may negatively affect students’ independent learning skills.

The event concluded with positive feedback from participants and provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences on artificial intelligence in language education. We would like to thank all instructors and students who contributed to the event.
