The "Language Café" protocol was signed by Prof. Dr. Aslı Yazıcı, Dean of the Faculty of Literature, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Özkan Avcı, Director of the School of Foreign Languages. The initiative aims to increase active participation, interaction, and application-based learning opportunities in the foreign language acquisition process.
The Language Café activities are designed to help students improve their English speaking skills through natural communication. The protocol covers:
Students currently receiving English preparatory education at the School of Foreign Languages.
Students enrolled in various departments within the Faculty of Literature.
The program will be conducted in small groups based on volunteerism and encouragement. Discussions will revolve around a wide range of themes, including:
Culture, History, and Art
Philosophy, Sociology, and Psychology
Literature and Daily Life
In addition to enhancing communication skills, the process is designed to foster social interaction, intercultural awareness, and self-confidence among participants. By moving beyond traditional classroom boundaries, BARÜ continues to support innovative and student-centered educational models.
