The 8th Traditional Debate Event was held on January 5–6, 2026 within the scope of the Compulsory English Program of the School of Foreign Languages. During the event, nine student groups had the opportunity to debate different and current topics in English.

The event enabled students to develop their critical thinking, persuasive speaking, teamwork, and academic discussion skills, while also providing them with the opportunity to use English effectively in authentic communication contexts.

Throughout the event, students’ dedication during the preparation process, as well as their abilities to construct arguments and respond to opposing views, were noteworthy. Following the jury evaluations, groups that demonstrated successful performances were recognized. It was observed that this traditional event makes a significant contribution to students’ foreign language proficiency and self-confidence.
