English Language Proficiency Exam Announcement for Students Enrolling in ELT and ETI Programs

An English Language Proficiency Exam will be held on September 9-10, 2025, for our newly enrolled students (for the 2025-2026 academic year) in the English Language Teaching and English Translation and Interpreting undergraduate programs at our university. Students who were unable to complete the Compulsory English Preparatory Program (CEPP) during the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic years are also eligible to take this exam.
Students who pass this proficiency exam will be exempt from the Compulsory English Preparatory Program (CEPP) and will continue their studies in their respective academic units. Those who do not participate in the exam or fail to pass will be required to attend the CEPP.
About the Proficiency Exam
The CEPP English Proficiency Exam will be conducted in two sessions: written and oral. Students taking the exam must be present in the exam hall at least 20 minutes before the start of each session with a photo ID card (Turkish Republic ID card with photo or a student ID card/document with a photo). Students without a photo ID will not be admitted to the exam hall. It is highly recommended that students bring the necessary exam materials, such as pencils, erasers, and pencil sharpeners, on the day of the written exam.
Class lists* for students eligible to participate in the written session of the CEPP English Proficiency Exam will be provided in the following announcements since the registrations to the ELT and ETI programs are still ongoing. Only students who achieve sufficient scores in the written session will be eligible to participate in the oral exam session on the following day (September 10, 2025). The list of students eligible for the oral exam, along with the session times and room information, will be announced on the Foreign Languages School website on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in the afternoon, after the written exam.
Exam Sessions
We have shared the classrooms where students can attend this session below. However, the final list of students who will take the written exam will be shared later this week, pending the completion of ongoing registrations. Students who do not see their names on the lists should contact the Foreign Languages School Student Affairs Office by September 8, Monday. The written exam session on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The final student list and room information for the oral exam on September 10, 2025, will be announced after the written exam. Please follow the announcements on our website for updates.

Important Notes for Our Students:
*Students who are newly enrolled in the 2025-2026 academic year and wish to take the Compulsory English Preparatory Program are not required to take the exam. Those who wish to enroll in the preparatory program do not need to take the exam even if their name is on the list to be announced.
**This proficiency exam is not a placement test. It is an exam for those who wish to be exempted from the preparatory education, and students who pass the exam will continue their studies in their respective departments. Therefore, students who pass the exam cannot continue their studies in the preparatory program.
